Re: Voyage-linux Digest, Vol 122, Issue 8

Haruto Iba
Hi, Stefan,

Thank you very much for your quick response.
I'm afraid I'm misleading you.

>I tried to get this working for me, but it seems that the server ist
>currently down, so I cannot test.
That's the point 'currently down' : Accessing this station makes mpd
freeze.

>I don't know, how you actually feed the mpd with this information. I do
I put my .m3u file into /var/lib/mpd/playlists with my url list as
content.
I'd like to keep the station in the list because it starts broadcasting
again some time after its hiatus.
However each time checking whether this station is alive or not, mpd
freezes.
That's the problem I'm facing.

Just for your information below is the actual contents of my .m3u

FIle name: Jazz_Radio.m3u
# vTuner:
http://71.125.12.37:8000/ /Pure Jazz Radio
http://sc01.warpradio.com:8240/ /Dinner Jazz Excurtion  <== problem!
http://sc-ajazz.1.fm:5080/ /1 fm Adore Vocal Jazz
http://s5.voscast.com:7504/ /Martini In The Morning
http://fs-insidejazz.fast-serv.com:8004/ /Inside Jazz Contemporary
http://208.85.242.85:8002/ /Inside Jazz Straighten Up

Thank you.

Haruto.

Hi Haruto,

Am 22.02.2015 um 06:07 schrieb Haruto Iba:

... you're welcome :).
I'm afraid I'm misleading you.

I tried to get this working for me, but it seems that the server ist
currently down, so I cannot test.
That's the point 'currently down' : Accessing this station makes mpd
freeze.
Oh, Okay, now I get you.

Just for your information below is the actual contents of my .m3u

FIle name: Jazz_Radio.m3u

http://s5.voscast.com:7504/ /Martini In The Morning
http://fs-insidejazz.fast-serv.com:8004/ /Inside Jazz Contemporary
http://208.85.242.85:8002/ /Inside Jazz Straighten Up
Maybe it's got to do with the comments you got in the file. I tried this with a file as follows:

root@raspy-mpd:/var/lib/mpd/playlists# cat Jazz\ Radios.m3u
http://71.125.12.37:8000/
http://sc01.warpradio.com:8240/
http://sc-ajazz.1.fm:5080/
http://s5.voscast.com:7504/
http://fs-insidejazz.fast-serv.com:8004/
http://208.85.242.85:8002/

When playing with Ario as frontend I kann select the station on line 2 and ... as expected ... get no sound. The rest (lines 1, 3-6) work fine, beause those stations are broadcasting.

The mpd on the voyage system does not crash or show problems, neither does my Ario-client.

I'm sorry, but it seems I cannot reconstruct your problem. Maybe you try a post at http://forum.musicpd.org/ ... these are the mpd gurus. Possibly they have a hint for you?

Good luck!

Stefan.
